Q1: As an attorney, what was your biggest concern about AI in the legal field before joining Litmas?

Like most attorneys, my first thought was accuracy. We’ve all heard horror stories about AI hallucinations, fake citations, or unreliable summaries. As lawyers, we can’t afford errors like those. Before Litmas, I was skeptical that AI could ever be used safely in litigation without risking credibility.

That’s why I understand when attorneys say they’re skeptical or not interested in AI, I used to be one of them. Letting go of that control can be intimidating, especially when tools like ChatGPT are known for making things up. Having a solution created by former litigators brings comfort because they understand the stakes and would never build something that compromises legal integrity.

Q2: How does Litmas address that concern and ensure reliability?

That’s the foundation of Litmas. The platform was built to eliminate hallucinations by combining vetted legal databases, proprietary AI safeguards, and a validation layer that verifies every citation and source before it reaches the user.

Every output is traceable, reviewable, and backed by real references, so attorneys always stay in control. Litmas uses a two-step verification system to maintain reliability, the result of deep collaboration between engineers, AI specialists, and practicing litigators.

Q3: How does Litmas actually fit into a litigator’s workflow?

It’s designed to plug directly into what litigators already do, not replace them. Litmas helps draft motions, summarize depositions, organize exhibits, and research case law, all from a single secure workspace. Attorneys still apply their own strategy and judgment.

What Litmas does is remove hours of manual work so they can focus on the arguments that win cases. Because it was built by real litigators, it “thinks” like an attorney, not a generic AI tool. You can explore how Litmas supports specific practice areas here.

Q4: Some attorneys worry AI might make their work impersonal or cookie-cutter. How does Litmas handle that?

That’s a fair concern. Litmas doesn’t generate generic content, it’s context-aware. The system analyzes your actual case materials, filings, and discovery to tailor every output. When you use Litmas to draft a motion or summary, it sounds like your voice, informed by your case.

The AI acts as a legal assistant, not an author, preserving the personal, human tone of every argument.

Q5: What about confidentiality? How secure is the information uploaded into Litmas?

Confidentiality is non-negotiable. All data in Litmas is encrypted both in transit and at rest. None of it is shared with public models, and nothing is used for training.

Our security standards meet or exceed the requirements for litigation work, including cases involving sensitive or privileged data. Even Litmas staff cannot access client files. More details about privacy and safeguards can be found in our FAQ.

Q6: For firms that are hesitant to try AI, what’s the best way to get started?

Skepticism is healthy, we wouldn’t be good attorneys without it. We offer a case-by-case subscription that allows firms or attorneys to test drive the platform with one of their real cases. From there, they have the ability to add more once they see what the platform can do.

Once attorneys see how much time they save on drafting or deposition prep, the value becomes clear. Litmas also offers onboarding sessions with its founding litigators, so teams can see the people and principles behind the technology. Trust has to be earned, and Litmas is built to earn it.

Q7: If you could sum up what makes Litmas different, what would you say?

It’s simple: Litmas was built by litigators, for litigators. Every safeguard, feature, and workflow reflects how real attorneys practice. It’s not just another piece of legal tech, it’s litigation intelligence that’s safe, accurate, and transformative.

Q8: What would you say to attorneys who think AI takes the fun out of lawyering?

Honestly, I get it. For a lot of us, the fun is in the strategy, storytelling, and persuasion, not in formatting exhibits or hunting for that one deposition quote. Litmas doesn’t replace the creative part of practicing law; it gives you more time to focus on it. I encourage people to at least take a look for themselves. I never have, nor will I ever, buy into the idea that attorneys or anyone will be replaced by AI. I do think we are going to see attorneys who embrace the safe AI tools available become more efficient and precise in their practices. Lawyering will always be fun, I just don’t think it always has to be quite so hard.
