Meet the Litmas AI Agentic Associate: Evidence Mapping, Research and Drafting in One Workflow

The Litmas AI Agentic Associate maps facts, researches, and drafts in a single connected workflow, so that attorney time goes to crafting the narrative, critical thinking and legal judgment.
Consider a smart litigation associate, eager to work and ready to burn the midnight oil for their client. Facing a summary judgment deadline, they confront a record that runs thousands of pages and the depositions that haven't been summarized yet. Weeks of work sit in front of them before a single sentence of the motion can even be drafted.
Now consider that smart litigation associate working with the Litmas AI Agentic Associate, now live and publicly available for the first time. The Agentic Associate organizes the facts, does the research, and drafts the motion in a single connected workflow. The litigation associate now gets a draft that is 90% ready to file, with pincites to the record and relevant case law that the litigation associate can quickly verify. Motion drafting time drops 60 to 80 percent.
Litmas AI was built by litigators and for litigation. That knowledge and back-end design means that the Agentic Associate understands litigation workflows and centers attorney judgment and ethical responsibilities. As a result, the litigation associate has more time to focus on the strategic legal argument, to build the strongest case for the client, and even to take on more matters. Plus, they can do so in a platform that protects their confidential data and understands their professional responsibilities. Introducing the Agentic Associate, the next version of the Litmas AI platform.
What the Litmas AI Agentic Associate Does
The Litmas AI Agentic Associate handles fact management, legal research, and drafting in one connected workflow, so attorneys can stop moving work between tools.
Too often, attorneys shift between platforms, using one tool to organize documents, another for research, and a third to draft. Time goes to copying information between tools and each switch breaks concentration. The Agentic Associate does that work in one place and understands the context of that work. Attorneys stay in one platform and spend time in focused work rather than in task-switching.
Each part feeds the next:
- Fact mapping. It reads the case file, organizes the facts around the storylines that support each claim, and links every fact to its source.
- Legal research. It pulls jurisdiction-specific authority and checks and updates every case and statute against verified U.S. court opinions before anything reaches you.
- Drafting. It writes from the mapped record and the research, in the format each court requires.

The Evidence Mapper
The Evidence Mapper component of the Agentic Associate organizes cases around the way attorneys argue them, with the facts that support each claim surfaced and cited.
Litigators build the narrative of the case based on facts that align with the claims they're trying to prove: for example, what the defendant said when they found the injured plaintiff, how the injury happened, whether the plaintiff paid for medical care. For each claim, the Evidence Mapper determines the legal elements needed to prove it. Then, it identifies the relevant facts in the record and groups them under each relevant claim. Finally, it connects those facts to the legal elements, timelines, and parties in the case.
Every fact links to its underlying source, whether that is a deposition transcript, an exhibit, or a medical record, down to the page and line. One click takes the attorney from the Evidence Mapper to the document and line it came from.

The Evidence Mapper thus serves as the foundation for future research and drafting. When the Agentic Associate is ready to begin researching, it uses the mapped record to determine where additional research is needed. When the Agentic Associate begins drafting, it uses the Evidence Mapper and the relevant research to do so. Any draft produced using the Agentic Associate has a pincite to the record or a legal precedent. The reviewing attorney can then quickly and easily verify what was drafted against the actual source, whether it's from the record or from a statute or case.
What It Looks Like in Practice
The Agentic Associate works on the motions and discovery litigators draft every week:
Motion for summary judgment. An MSJ can take significant time to draft, because it lives or dies on the factual record. The Evidence Mapper ties the facts to each element, the research follows those facts, and every assertion in the draft carries a pincite. You spend your time on the argument instead of the cross-referencing. For a step-by-step look, read How Litmas AI Solves the MSJ Drafting Problem.
Motion to dismiss. An MTD turns on the pleadings and the law, so the research becomes more important. The Agentic Associate researches authority in your jurisdiction, checks every case and statute against verified court opinions, and drafts the motion with the citations already validated.
Targeted interrogatories and deposition questions. Discovery lets litigators surface weak spots in the facts. Because the Evidence Mapper connects facts to the elements of each claim, it shows where the record is thin. The Agentic Associate uses those gaps to generate targeted interrogatories and deposition questions designed to surface the missing facts or highlight the contradictions on which litigators build their cases.
In each case, the Agentic Associate does the first pass. The attorney then reviews, checks the citations, and decides what the case requires. With the Agentic Associate:
Drafts are 90% ready to file. 60 to 80 percent reduction in motion drafting time. 3,000 motions already filed through the platform. Coverage in all 50 states and federal courts.
Why It Matters: Keeping the Attorney in the Loop
A single litigator can file hundreds of documents with the court in just one case. An inaccurate, hallucinated, or misrepresented citation in any of those filings can cost litigators the case or their reputation. The problem isn't small: to date more than 1,500 U.S. court decisions have addressed AI-generated fabrications in legal filings, and a peer-reviewed Stanford study found that even paid, legal-specific AI research tools hallucinate between 17 and 33 percent of the time. A responsible litigator is one who has adapted their workflows to ensure an attorney stays in the loop. That means they verify all work generated by an AI tool, despite the increased time such verification can take.
Indeed, California has codified this approach. SB 574, signed on September 30, 2026 and effective January 1, 2027, bluntly states "[a]n attorney shall not delegate the practice of law to generative artificial intelligence." The statute requires that California attorneys take reasonable steps to verify the accuracy of AI output, including every case and statutory citation. For a closer look, read California SB 574: You Cannot Delegate the Practice of Law to AI.
The Agentic Associate, and Litmas AI as a whole, is built around the principle of the attorney-in-the-loop and an understanding of the accuracy and precision required by legal filings. Before a draft reaches a litigator, dual-layer citation validation checks every case and statute cited against verified U.S. court opinions. Litmas AI also reports zero fabricated case citations to date. The Agentic Associate thus reduces the time litigators spend verifying anything that the Associate drafts, so that the litigator can focus more on adding their own voice, building the narrative of the case, and strengthening the legal argument. Additionally, the litigator has the opportunity to review the proposed workflow, the next steps, and anything drafted at each stage of the process. And, prior to the drafting beginning, every project generates a Session Plan, which requires the attorney to review all 10 underlying bases of a drafting project. The Agentic Associate provides the workflow; the litigator makes the final call.
More Time for More Cases, and Better Work on Each One
Litmas AI was co-founded by Jason Weber, an experienced litigator who ran a Miami litigation firm for over ten years. He wanted to build something that would help attorneys who faced the same challenges that he did in practice. He knew what it was like to spend hours cross-referencing the record to verify a single fact, rather than using that time to build the narrative of the case.
The Agentic Associate takes that work off of a litigator's desk, so they have time not only to take on more cases, but to think harder about each one. The Agentic Associate doesn't replace attorneys. It makes attorney work better and faster.
Speed and quality matter, but Jason also wanted to build a product that attorneys could trust: not just from a verification standpoint, but also from an attorney-client privilege standpoint. Litmas AI has completed a SOC 2 examination and an independent HIPAA compliance audit. The systems use enterprise-grade encryption and access controls. Litmas AI is also listed on FedRAMP 20x certification and working towards certification. Litmas AI also offers the Privilege Chat, a conversation that stays between the attorney using it and the AI agent.
